A PIECE OF STAR TREK: VOYAGER HISTORY

For fans of Star Trek: Voyager, few holodeck adventures were as delightfully different as Captain Proton, Introduced in Season Five of Star Trek: Voyager, Captain Proton was a wonderfully tongue-in-cheek homage to the pulp science-fiction serials of the 1930s and ’40s. Presented in period-style black and white, its adventures brought a playful dose of vintage sci-fi melodrama to the Voyager crew.

In the celebrated episode Bride of Chaotica!, however, the game became reality when photonic lifeforms mistook the holodeck program for an actual world. Forced to play along, Captain Janeway embraced her role as Arachnia, Queen of the Spider People — complete with a suitably extravagant ray gun.

Only one Queen Arachnia ray gun prop was created for the series. Constructed primarily from resin with metal detailing, it also featured a subtle piece of Star Trek history: the rosette on the rear of the grip was directly copied from the spacesuits seen in The Original Series episode The Tholian Web.

THE REPLICA

Factory Entertainment is proud to own the original Queen Arachnia ray gun prop. Using this unique production piece as the master and working in consultation with members of the original art department, the replica has been faithfully recreated to capture the character and craftsmanship of the original.

The main body is cast in durable epoxy resin, while the emitter is precision-machined from aluminum, faithfully reproducing the original combination of materials and finishes.

A particularly distinctive piece of Star Trek prop history, this Signature Edition includes an individually numbered metal plaque autographed by Kate Mulgrew — Captain Kathryn Janeway herself, and, in the fantastical world of Captain Proton, the incomparable Queen Arachnia.

Each replica also includes a display stand and COA (certificate of authenticity) booklet and is presented in a color gift box.
