A PIECE OF STAR TREK: VOYAGER HISTORY

For fans of Star Trek: Voyager, few holodeck adventures were as delightfully different as Captain Proton.

Introduced in Season Five, the Captain Proton program was Tom Paris and Harry Kim’s affectionate homage to the cliffhanger science-fiction serials of the 1930s and ’40s. Shot entirely in black and white and filled with exaggerated characters, dramatic sets and vintage sci-fi adventure, Captain Proton offered the Voyager crew — and its fans — a wonderfully nostalgic change of pace.

Two hero ray gun props were created for the series. Both were resin castings, cleverly assembled from modified commercial toy pistols and water guns. One was used during filming, while the other was retained by the production team.

THE REPLICA

Factory Entertainment was granted rare access to the original production-retained ray gun, allowing this replica to be faithfully recreated from the actual screen-used design. Members of the original production team also provided valuable insight into its construction.

Cast in durable epoxy resin and finished in the colorful retro-futuristic palette of the original, the replica reveals the vivid pulp-sci-fi styling that was transformed into monochrome for the show.

A wonderfully quirky piece of Star Trek: Voyager history, this Signature Edition is individually numbered with a metal plaque hand-signed by Robert Duncan McNeill, who brought both Lt. Tom Paris and his fearless alter ego, Captain Proton to life. Each replica also includes a display stand and COA (certificate of authenticity) booklet and is presented in a color gift box.
