THE ORIGINAL PROPS
Latinum is a rare liquid metal, highly prized by the Ferengi. To keep it stable, it’s suspended within gold to form Gold-Pressed Latinum, issued in familiar denominations including slips, strips, bars, and bricks. Its unique properties prevent it from being replicated, making it one of the most valuable commodities in the Alpha Quadrant and beyond.

The original screen-used props were cast in resin at various sizes and finished with gold paint. In a bit of sub rosa whimsy, the prop makers engraved the alien script on three of the most commonly seen bars with their own names and those of their family members. Invisible on camera, these quiet tributes remain a delightful behind-the-scenes detail.

THE REPLICA
To create this replica set, the Factory Entertainment team produced detailed 3D scans of three different original prop bars , which we internally classified as small, medium and large.

Our replica bars are cast in solid metal and electroplated, giving them heft and a premium, real-world presence. It’s an execution we feel even the Grand Nagus himself would approve of.

Presented in a magnetic flap gift box, each latinum bar set includes an individually numbered certificate of authenticity booklet.
