Kira Nerys is a fighter. With the Cardassian occupation, her fight became official at a young age, when she joined the Resistance. This fight brought her up against dark and difficult parts of herself, causing her at times feel trapped by her own unwillingness to ever surrender. The fight became her 'being', one that she realized she didn't always wish to carry. Major Kira is a formidable person, whose nobility arises, not just in her willingness to fight, but in her willingness to find a way not to at times.
