This Special Edition piece captures the pivotal moment in which Captain Picard is assimilated by the Borg Queen and becomes "Locutus". The Queen's intensely intimate interest in Locutus betrays her desire for an equal; one who would rise above the role of simple drone and fulfill the position of counterpart. Despite assimilation, when the viewer looks carefully into Locutus's eyes, they glisten with emotion, revealing Captain Picard's consciousness within, aware and resisting, despite the odds.
