The warbird is carrying very precious cargo: the re-incarnated form of Spock and his living essence or Katra that is housed within Dr. McCoy. In this moment all is fragile hope. Soon they will climb the steps of Mount Seleya, which can be seen in the background, in hopes that an ancient ritual, heard of only in legend, can bring wholeness back to both Spock and McCoy.
